Front of House Manager/General Manager

A very successful Bristol based family restaurant are now looking for a Front of House Manager/General Manager to manage operations for the business.

This is a leadership role with a big future, and you'll be working closely with the owner who is hands on with the business.

The team has little turnover, and it's an environment of working hard and enjoying life at the same time

With service and standards at it’s core, we are looking for candidates who excel being customer facing, can motivate and engage a team and love working with the very best food and produce Bristol has to offer.

The role as Front of House Manager/General Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for operating across the hospitality and retail areas of the business and be comfortable in a volume led role. Supporting with financials, dealing with suppliers, managing staff and looking to put your stamp on this thriving business.

You must have experience in food operations and have managed a team.

Responsibilities of Front of House Manager/General Manager:

• Managing FOH employees and working directly with the Chefs as a team

• Forecasting wage costs, rosters, holiday planning

• Oversee the day to day running of the restaurant, ensuring smooth and efficient operation and giving appropriate feedback to staff

• Managing and developing a team of customer service professionals and creating a team culture

• Ensuring effective Cash & Stock Control Procedures are in place and adhered to at all times.

• Training and Development of the team

• Keeping the team up to date about departmental and company activities through daily communication

• Drive results through revenue growth and cost savings efficiency

• Be a team player and have excellent attention to detail

• Coordinating the entire operation of the restaurant during scheduled shifts.

• Handling any customer complaints/staff complaints

• Maintain integrity of the staff and keeping the restaurant in compliance with Health and Safety regulations and cleanliness

The Ideal Candidate


• An advanced level of English is required and a professional and polite manner is essential.

• Experience working in a managerial or supervisory role in a fast paced environment

• 1-2 years experience in similar field preferred

• Experienced and trained on HACCP management systems preferred

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong desire to work with food and as a team.

• Flexible with the ability to work closely with the Kitchen Management team and restaurant staff.

• Organised and reliable individual with excellent attention to detail and the ability to multitask.

• Shows excellent initiative and has a can do attitude

The Front of House Manager/General Manager is £30K - £35k (DOE) Additional Excellent Benefits.
